Contemporary presented it Center for the Critical Appreciation of Antiquity Episode 2:
Crash Pad Revisited, by Andreas Angelidakis.

The installation is the second episode of the commissioned work presented at Espace Niemeyer, in Paris in October 2022.
In the Crash Pad presentation, the Greek artist revisits the soft pieces environment he first conceived as an idea for the 8th Berlin Biennale in 2014 exhibited at the Kunst-Werke Institute of Contemporary Art.

The Center for the Critical Appreciation of Antiquity it explores our relationship with archeology and, for the artist, represents the archeology of self and history
of his own artistic practice. Soft pieces are simultaneously sculptural and utilitarian furniture made of foam material and printed fabric.
They invite the visitor to use the art space for discussions and social interactions.

In the 2014 version of the Crash Pad, the soft pieces were covered with handmade carpets.
In the 2022 version of the project, they were made in the style of ancient columns – “soft ruins”, as the artist called them.
For the Crash Pad version in Berlin, Angelidakis has once again surrounded the objects in oriental rugs.
The setting provokes a review of the complex history of Greece, from its over-hyped antiquity to the largely forgotten Ottoman period.

Η Poofomania carried out the construction of the blocks.
